You are obviously living in poverty, and that’s no one else’s fault. Hate to be harsh but I know lots of people with less than average incomes who travel there especially to shop designer gear. Just because you can’t afford the items does not mean you are entitled to call it a “waste of space” – it certainly isn’t for others! Also Britboy0404, Ralph Lauren and Ted Baker are hardly “high street”.

It's a good thing that you only have a Debit Card. Because with a Debit Card, in the situation of a mishap, you may loose all the money in your account. Now that's terrible, but what's more terrible is a mishap with your Credit Card. Why? Because with a Credit Card, you can loose money that you don't even have! Yes that's right, you'll actually have to pay more money on Top of what you had in your account, in case some one steals your Credit Card info. That could well be disastrous. Look for SSL certifications in websites and make sure it's a reliable website before entering your Card details, Debit or Credit.

    Hope this helps!

Yes they accept all major credit cards.
You can take gold if you are wearing it on you as much as you want but dont get too obvious. You can only take Rs 30,000 worth of gold if packed in your suitcase.
But if you declare it you can take any amounts of gold .

When shopping for something where you will have multiple credit inquiries it is important to shop multiple venues as close together as possible. Say you are looking for a new car, and you're going to get financing from the dealer. If you go to 3 or 4 dealers in a week the credit bureaus will see the inquiries are related, and will treat them as a single incident. If, however, you spread the inquiries over several months the credit bureaus will think you are having some money problem that interferes with the deal. They will lower your score on that possibility of trouble.

Pre-qualification does not mean a credit check has been done. It simply means the lender has made a tentative assessment of your assets to determine your eligibility for a loan. Looking at your earnings, your bank balance, etc. the lender can say you pre-qualify for a loan to buy a house that doesn't cost you more than a specified percentage of your income. The 60 days is the term for the lender's assessment. If it takes you longer to find the house you want, that's OK; you can get another one. The credit check will be done when you finalize the loan.

Things you can do to keep your credit score high.
Pay your balance on time. Sounds simple, but it's 35% of your credit score.
Don't cancel several credit cards before you have a credit check. The bureaus look at this as an indication of a problem, even if the cards had no balance.
Don't allow your balance to exceed 60% of the card's maximum. Again the bureaus see this as you having a problem, and the amount of your debt determines 30% of your score.

It is probably more dangerous to hand your credit card to some 16 year old, puke, kid cashier at the local store. Who knows what that kid will do with your number!

  13. gizmo2006 says:

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go get a credit card to buy people gifts for Christmas! You WILL regret it…If you can't pay for it now, you won't be able to pay for it much better later…. If you friends/family do not understand that you can not afford fancy gifts, then shame on them…. Buy the people who are most important to you something meaningful that you can pay for now, or make something from the heart. Going into debt for Christmas gifts really is a bad idea. Please think twice before you do it.

    Yes you can.

Most Merchants require credit or debit cards to have address verification. Your bank may need to activate your card for internet/phone purchases. You may have tried to order from outside of your home country. Some banks require you to activate the card for international purchases even if ordering on the internet. If you placed a lot of orders you may be over your daily authorization limit. Some merchants charge you an authorization and a purchase which looks like two charges because the merchant does not know how to merge the transaction. The authorization is usually removed in about a week.

    To correct some people above

In person US debit card with a Visa or MasterCard symbol can be used two ways at some merchants

Use the Credit button and you usually sign for the purchase.
Use the debit button and you enter your pin at the pos terminal

Online and by phone it can only be used as a Credit Card and you should never give anyone your pin number. All ways come out of your checking account with no delays using a debit card. My experience. You are also protected with debit card purchases. The key is notifying the bank fast.

You could, but I can't imagine any store accepting it. They would be on the hook for the loss if there was fraud.
