Online Commerce: What You Need to Know

Building an online commerce site requires multiple elements to be successful. One of the key elements is setting up a system for <a title=Learn About Credit Card Processing at Merchant Partners rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(’/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” rel=”external nofollow” target=”_blank” href=http://merchantpartners.com/page/1a7uf/Landing_Pages3/Credit_Card_Processing.html>credit card processing</a>. This will allow you the ability to accept credit card payments online without the need of a swipe machine. Another crucial part of the process is setting up a <a title=Sign Up for a Gateway Now at Merchant Partners rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(’/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” rel=”external nofollow” target=”_blank” href=http://merchantpartners.com/page/1a7vc/Landing_Pages6/Payment_Gateway.html>payment gateway</a>so your transactions will know where to go when processed. Like what bank the money withdrawn from customer’s credit card will go.
Once you have a payment gateway setup, credit card processing becomes easy. Normally on a website, the transaction will sit in queue waiting your approval. The credit card number can only be seen before you process the transaction. Once you process the transaction, the system delete’s all except the last four of the credit card number. This is so you cannot have a record of past credit card numbers, as this is a major security risk.
Once the transaction has been processed, the next step is to access your payment gateway. You want to make sure the credit card hasn’t been declined for any reason. Decline messages will show up with an error number that can easily be referenced. Some errors will be obvious like, “Invalid Expiration Date”, or “Invalid Address”. These are usually customer error, and you will need to contact them to get the correct information.
When initially creating your website, it’s likely that you will receive orders before you have credit card processing setup on the site. Orders processed before the integration of the gateway in your site cannot be automatically processed. Therefore once you get the gateway setup, these orders can be processed manually. When processing manually, the form to fill out in the gateway is much like the one you see when you checkout on a website. Usually you will need the CVV2 code to process manually which you will need to get from the customer who purchased the order.
When in the payment gateway, you can also setup FRISK management. FRISK management prevents customers who accidentally hit the back button on their browser after initiating the transaction, and create a duplicate transaction. If the two transactions are between minutes of each other, the system will deny the second transaction so the card doesn’t get charged twice. If the customer wants two of the same thing, they should be updating the quantity in the initial transaction, rather than making two separate transactions for the same item.
When building an ecommerce website, you need to be sure you have all of the tools you need. Online credit card processing is crucial. No one is going to send you a check in the mail. A payment gateway is important to have so the transactions know where to go, and if something happens to the transaction, you can process the cards manually. Keep these key factors in mind when building your ecommerce website.

Please contact me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
a routing number is a long number on the bottom of your checks used to electronicly transfer money from your account to theres and it is not your reguluar checking account number. u can always call a bank officer to verify it.
I didn’t do an analysis on their entire product line or site. My point was, as I said before, simply “rank alone isn’t everything” (ie. Alexa Rating)
#1 – educate yourself!!! Most people are unaware how easy it is to make money on the NET. But, then again, the Net is HUGE!!!!
#2 – If it cost money up front — don't do it. Your only start up cost should be a computer, internet access and maybe when your ready a $12.95 a month to month web hosting (meaning it is not a long term commitment or large sums up front) on Yahoo.
#3 – Yes, it is a good idea, but you need to find someone already doing it whom will take you under thier wings and teach you. It took me three starving years to achieve what I have, but it was worth every hungry night. No, I don't recommend that to anyone, because my resolve is greater than most.
#4 – Any more advice you would have to contact me. NO – NOT MEET ME. Contact me…and I can point you in the right direction.
Last words — When I started — I was told I could never break a bill, then 2 bills, then 4 bills, and so, on. The point is — I don't listen to anyone, and let no one stand in my way. So, why they are telling me what I can't do – I am already doing it looking to the next thing they tell me I can't do.

The term e-commerce might refer to any form of buying and selling over the internet, but is usually used to describe the function of an online store.
Just managing the online catalog to reflect the current inventory and processing orders could in it's self be a full time job.
The other task essential to make a store a success is attracting visitors to the store, through various marketing techniques, advertising through paid advertising, price comparison site inclusion and free search engine traffic by SEO. Often specialists will be employed to implement the marketing plan. Advertising strategies much like rick and motor stores, including competitive pricing or loss leaders may be employed.
nice website, the rank is really bad……..589,013 trafic rank is REALLY bad, you need to ad this is not TV you need to spend more on ads
Hello Shoegal,
You have a long road ahead of you, but don't despair. In order to run an eCommerce site there is a lot of prep work and research that needs to be accomplished. There are a couple different ways you can go about finding a solution: You could search for an eCommerce system you want to use and then select a web host or you could select a web host and then use whatever eCommerce solution they already offer or that you can install.
Most eCommerce solutions have templates available. All you have to do is search with the name of the eCommerce system you want to use and the word "template" or "theme". You will find tons of templates for most eCommmerce systems.
Some of the larger eCommerce systems are: http://www.magentocommerce.com/, http://www.oscommerce.com/, http://virtuemart.net/
These systems can be a little complicated if you have never dealt with some type of content management system. "Reskinning" will require diving into a lot of documentation to know what and where to edit.
My personal favorite system is Magento. It's pretty much the best of the best. Here are a few free templates: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/05/05/25-magento-templates-for-your-e-commerce-business/
A close second would be virtuemart for the simple reason that it integrates with Joomla! and extends the possibilities of your site. Using Joomla!, you could easily add a blog or articles to your site. Here is a great Joomla / virtuemart theme: http://www.rockettheme.com/joomla-templates/mynxx
If you would like to search for a web hosting company I recommend using http://www.explorewebhosting.com/ You can search for different hosting providers in the Hosting Providers section of the site. I would go with a Shared Web Host if you are just starting out. Check out this host: http://www.explorewebhosting.com/component/content/article/1-linux-hosting/19-bluehost.html They offer a 'One Click Install" system called Simple Scripts that will do all of the work of setting up Magento for you. Once the site is setup you could then start customizing it.
If you have any other questions, feel free to stop by the forum on ExploreWebHosting.com and I'll be happy to help answer any questions you have. http://www.explorewebhosting.com/forum/
25-30k is the going rate that professional web-production companies charge (and rightly so) for high-functionality web applications, such as ecommerce sites.
I’m a new e-commerce
Pick a web host accepting credit card to get rid of your problem.

i think the blue is nice. and brandywine, if you dont care about what hoodies she buys then why did you answer it??
i was just asking….
It’s not a terribly fantastic rank, but what about keywords? “soft sided luggage” gets them on the first page of google, which isn’t half bad. And like they said in the video, they’re averaging $5/visit, without PPC. That’s purely organic. Anyways, just saying, rank alone isn’t everything.
Nice Video
Keep up the good work !!! Watch my videos
Well I like both of the Victoria Secret bathing suits and they both have a lot of different colors and their really cute!
Hope I Helped!
@MonsuerLePlague “soft sided luggage” is a really low level keyword google com/insights/search/#q=soft%20sided%20luggage%2C&cmpt=q that searchword gets 2.900 per month… is nothing, if they get 5 dolars per click than is silly that thy dont spend heavily in search engines, seo, or social networks
love the background tunes
